Better Off as We Are eases the tempo, roomy and bittersweet, while Girl Watcher flips a 60s staple into a fuzzed shuffle. This 2LP orange/green pressing spreads the mix out so the low end sits deeper and imaging cleans up across the kit. You hear harmonica and sax sit where they should instead of fighting the guitars. It belongs next to The Tea Partys late-90s output, but the groove here is earthier, less gothic drama, more streetwise swing.
