The remaster opens up more space around the guitars and the low end sits deeper, so Johnsons hushed vocal sits forward without smothering the room. Cymbals decay cleanly, and the trios small dynamics read like conversation. File it next to Ben Harpers early-2000s records, but a shade softer and more Pacific, ideal for a late kitchen tidy when the dishes can wait.
