Description Hide Show The sharp inhale before Karen O hits the chorus of “Maps” still stings on this LP. Yeah Yeah Yeahs Fever To Tell remains the ragged, glittered edge of the early-2000s NYC blast, but its more tuneful than memory allows. “Date With The Night” tears out of the gate, Brian Chases snare strafing while Nick Zinner scrapes chords like metal on tile. Then “Y Control” sneaks in with that needling riff and a hook that lingers long after the side ends. This pressing gives the chaos some shape; low end sits deeper and the imaging snaps into focus, so the trios push-pull feels more deliberate. It slots neatly beside the first Strokes records in era and attitude, but Karen Os yelp and sway make it its own thing.
